EU New Customs Regulations 2026: What European Shoppers Need to Know

Big changes are coming for anyone who buys from China and ships to Europe. Starting July 2026, the EU has introduced new customs rules that affect how duties are calculated on imported parcels. Here’s what I’ve learned about the new system.

What Changed?

Under the new rules, customs duties are now based on 6-digit HS codes per product category. Each category roughly incurs around €3 in customs duty. Importantly, this affects all 27 EU member states.

What This Means for Shoppers

Agent services like 360beestbuy are currently charging just €3 per parcel to cover these duties during the transition period. While the new rules add a small cost, buying from China is still dramatically cheaper than local retail — especially for electronics, fashion, and accessories.

Switzerland Is Not Affected

Good news for Swiss shoppers: these new rules only apply to EU countries, so shipping from China to Switzerland remains unaffected.
